I’ve been working out now for almost a whole month and guess what!?  I’m losing weight!  I know, shocking.

I’m down 12 pounds and one whole dress size.  That’s a really big deal to me! Ordinarily I’m cussing out Eric, my uber young, fit, personal trainer.  But right now I am loving that kid!

If you’re a local yokel looking to shed a few, or buff up, head over to The Club MS (off McIngvale, behind Back Yard Burger, ironic I know) and ask for Eric.

I hate and love busy days like today.  I hate feeling like I’m running around like a crazy person.  And at the end of the day I feel like I didn’t get one thing done.

But I do love how fast these busy days fly by!

So the firebugs ( the men folk and the kids) put on an awesome show last night!  Fireworks July 4, 2008
Head over to my flickr page to see the best in show!  I did a lousy job with these photos (shooting fireworks is hard!) but I figured I’d share because it was a great show they put on.  :)

From RiverKings.com

He patrolled the visitors’ bench at the DeSoto Civic Center for the past two seasons, but Kevin Kaminski will now be calling the DCC his new hockey home. Maddox Hockey, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Kaminski as the new head coach of the Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League, effective immediately.

“It’s an honor to be part of the RiverKings family,” said Kaminski. “I am looking forward to the challenge of bringing championship hockey back to Mississippi, and my family is excited about moving to the DeSoto County area.”

I’m glad to see that my cat (Manny) isn’t the only one fascinated by our front-loading washer.

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

‘Well,’ said the Director, ‘we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.’

‘Oh, I understand,’ said the visitor. ‘A normal person would use the bucket because it’s bigger than the spoon or the teacup.’

Keep in mind that the Yaris I had was the beneath standard package with power nothing and no cruise.  I think I was lucky it came with a steering wheel.  But I did love having such amazing gas mileage.  That and the fact that it was so tiny I could park it anywhere.

But this new gas guzzling SUV/Crossover/Whatever the heck it’s called is so luxurious, I’m quickly getting spoiled. This new big, comfortable beasty has power everything, cruise, adjustable stuff, tons upon tons of space and roomy comfort.

It’s got a dozen way cool gadgets that tell me how many miles I have left to go on my current tank of gas, what my average mileage is (I don’t look at that one, it’s depressing) and even what my tire pressure is.  It’s also got OnStar, which I’m still learning about.  It’s kind of freaky speaking to them because all of a sudden a voice is coming from your car speakers calling you by name like you’re old friends.  But it’s super convenient.  And it makes me feel all special, like I’m a bigwig of Tiger Woods type status.

So don’t be surprised if I pass you on Goodman Rd with my nose in the air, cause I’m just that important.
